One of my greatest passions in life is helping kids.  I find kids energizing and I love helping them to learn and discover the world around them.  I am currently a kindergarten teacher at North Elementary in Colorado Springs, CO and I love it!  Kindergarten students enter school like sponges and exit as somewhat mature students.  While at times it can be frustrating to teach them the menial parts of school such as walking in a line, I also get the privelege of teaching them to read.  I honestly consider it a privilege to teach kindergarten students and be an influence during this fragile phase of their life.

Outside of school, I enjoy the outdoors and Colorado is one of the best places for that!  I moved here 6 years ago after I graduated from college and I have never regretted it for a minute.  I grew up in Pittsburgh, PA (Go Steelers!) where there is very little sunshine, so I absolutely love the 300 days of sunny weather here!  Plus, I get to look at a 14,000 foot mountain every day as I watch the kids play at recess.  This is a fabulous place to live.  After school, I love to go hiking and biking.  I also love arts and crafts.  Scrapbooking is one of my favorite things to do.  Unfortunately with two jobs and working on a graduate degree, I don't have as much spare time as I would wish, but I have to make it work.

I have a wonderful husband and we've been married for almost 2 years.  Time sure flies fast.  We have a yellow lab puppy named Molly, who we just adopted from the Humane Society.  She is taking lots of time, but bringing bundles of joy to our lives as well!
